Corona is on everyone’s lips - now three German breweries are ensuring that it at least tastes good.
In times like these, collaborations are not an easy matter: distance is the top priority, masks prevent barrier-free enjoyment and the day ends shortly before nine. These are not good conditions for a cooperation and yet the following three dared to do it: The brewery manufacturer Hertl, the Berliner Straßenbräu and Freigeist Bierkultur from Cologne spared no expense and effort to sweeten the current situation at least with a delicious beer.
The result of the collaboration is Room 19 - The Corona Room, an aroma-intensive Berliner Weisse with a special ingredient. Anyone who knows David Hertl knows that he has a penchant for extravagant ingredients. This preference is also reflected in this project: Room 19 is not a conventional Berliner Weisse. In addition to the usual ingredients, the Berlin sour beer contains a generous portion of beetroot juice, which gives the beer not only its fabulous color but also its extraordinary taste.
Room 19 flows into the glass in shimmering ruby red amber and adorns itself with an airy head of foam that has a delicate pink shimmer. The beetroot is noticeable both in the smell and in the taste: The Berliner Weisse is finely sour and presents the earthy tuber in all its splendor.
95% beer ( water, wheat malt, barley malt, hops, yeast ), 5% beetroot juice
