Jakobiner Bräu

In the past, many people got their surnames from their profession: the baker was called Bäcker, the miller Müller and the tailor Schneider. However, people could also be named after their hometown or after a special characteristic. Someone with red hair might be called Rothaupt or Fuchs and someone from Bamberg was widely known as Bamberger. At some point these surnames were recorded in the birth register and were not changed. Even if the person was no longer a farmer, the family continued to bear the name Bauer. Mirco Hell is not named after his trained profession, but derived his calling from his name: based on his surname, he set up a brewery and began brewing his own Helles.

From wake-up call to happiness maker

Before Mirco Hell made his own beer, his hobbyhorse was more the area of non-alcoholic beverages. He worked for large manufacturers of energy drinks and his professional life revolved around caffeinated stimulants. Nevertheless, the northerner always had beer on his mind and not just because Hell is his last name. Mirco is a passionate beer connoisseur and brewing his own brews has long been his dream. In 2022, he took the plunge. Fortunately, he was not alone: Together with a professional brewmaster from Bavaria, Mirco created the brew of his dreams - a real Bavarian Helles. Bottom-fermented, drinkable and wonderfully cloudy. While tinkering and trying things out, the two became friends and were soon able to bring their first work onto the market. The Vinzentiner Helle is their pride and joy and the fruit of intensive work. The masterpiece is brewed in the home of fine Helles: Munich.

Turned, not shaken

The highlight of their work is the involvement of the beer drinker: In order to enjoy the pale beer in all its aromatic splendor, a little cooperation is required. In every bottle there is a small sediment made up of solid components that were not filtered out during the brewing process. In order to distribute the hops, yeast and malt protein evenly in the beer, Mirco has come up with a special move. With a loose hand, turn the still closed bottle upside down and gently swirl it back and forth. Then you should put the beer down for a moment so that it doesn't bubble out when you open the crown cap. And then the fine tipple can be poured and tasted. The Vinzentiner Helle is a multifaceted representative of its kind and brings a successful balance of tangy hops, soft malt and spicy yeast into the glass.

In Mirco’s words: Roll one!
