Keesmann Bräu

According to legend, Bamberg is crossed by three rivers: the left arm of the Regnitz, the right arm of the Regnitz and the freshly-sourced beer. If you think that's exaggerated, you don't know Bamberg. People don't drink water here, they drink beer. In the Bamberg city area alone, there are more than a handful of breweries that supply the small town with fresh beer. There are around 60 breweries in the Bamberg region, and the density of breweries used to be much higher. Keesmann is a local Bamberg brewery and an integral part of the city's culture.

Pils for President

Keesmann is not only a cultural asset of Bamberg, but also one of the cathedral city's most famous breweries. Beers like Herren-Pils are known and popular far beyond the borders of Franconia. Nevertheless, one or two people may be asking the entirely legitimate question: A Pils in Bamberg? Yes! At Keesmann, this is nothing unusual and has long since become the brewery's own classic, which is not only enjoyed by the people of Bamberg. In general, regional, hand-brewed beer is very popular in Franconia and there is a reason for this: Franconians simply know how to brew beer. If we have now made your mouth water, we recommend our beer package with Franconian craft beers - you can't go wrong with a whole crate of wonderful Franconian beers. On the contrary, you will probably make everyone you share it with happy.

The miracle of the Wunderburg

The Keesmann brewery has been family-owned since it was founded in 1867. The Keesmanns are a long-established Bamberg family and have been brewing their wonderful beer in the Bamberg district of Wunderburg for more than 150 years. What Elisabeth Keesmann is now continuing in the fifth generation began with master butcher Georg Keesmann. He decided that beer was the ideal accompaniment to ham, bratwurst and pressed sausage. As a capable businessman, Georg did not hesitate for long and completed his apprenticeship as a brewer with a master craftsman's certificate at the ripe old age of 51. From then on, Georg not only made sausages, but also brewed his own beer and the people of Bamberg could buy beer and meat loaf from one source in houses right next to each other. The Herren-Pils was already popular back then and still makes up a large part of production today.

No wonder, because this wonderful pilsner from the Wunderburg tastes simply wonderful!
