For many of us, malt beer was our first contact with beer. To the layman, the non-alcoholic drink looks very similar to beer, it smells of the finest malt and has almost the same nutritional ingredients as traditional barley juice. Little by little, we switched to alcoholic beer, but the taste of malt beer left an unforgettable impression on our tongues. A Berlin company is now building on this nostalgic feeling and bringing a special kind of malt beer to the beer market.
Christoph, Tom and Fabian are the head, heart and hands behind the Maria Malta malt factory. Christoph is the beer expert in the group: he brews his own beer in his craft brewery in Friedrichshain and provides the team with the necessary know-how in the art of brewing. Tom complements this repertoire with brewing experience from the homebrewery sector. He is also one of the two marketing geniuses in the group. Fabian also contributes marketing expertise and - like the other two - is an enthusiastic beer fan. Together they came up with Maria Malta. The creation is called malt drink and is a brew that does not contain any added sugar or alcohol. Thanks to the combined experience of the brewer, homebrewer and beer aficionado, the three were able to create a drink that decouples pure enjoyment from alcohol and the associated consequences. Maria Malta is vegan and environmentally friendly: all raw materials are of purely plant origin and are grown in controlled organic farming. Instead of adding sugar to their product, brewers go the extra mile and extract the subtle sweetness from the malt during the brewing process.
The aim of the project was to create a completely worry-free product. A drink that you can drink with a clear conscience and absolutely without hesitation. Even if you have a driving test that same day, are pregnant, are in an important meeting with your boss, are only 12 years old, want to do some sport later, have a dinner date with your in-laws, are taking part in a cycling race or are already craving hops and malt in the morning. Maria Malta consists of a hand-picked blend of different malts that are combined with a particularly aromatic hop variety to create a malt drink of the highest quality. The full-bodied grain is rounded off by harmonious hop accents and a sparkling freshness. To take away all your worries about the climate, the brewery compensates for its CO2 emissions by supporting a climate protection project.
