Beer is our passion and the basis of our work. We love the beer and everything that comes with it. We like to drink beer at every possible opportunity, talk about it and infect others with our enthusiasm. The team at Sofia Electric Brewing would certainly agree with us on all points, but they go one step further: for Simeon, Kami and Aiden, beer is a basic human right and they do their best to ensure that their fellow countrymen and everyone else get their daily ration of beer.

When a hobby becomes a vocation

Simeon Parvanov came up with the idea of his own brewery in 2018. The trained IT specialist brewed his first batches while he was still studying. The hobby brewer was always fascinated by barley juice and just couldn't keep his hands off it. Brewing beer in his student apartment in Sofia was almost an obvious choice for him and he followed this impulse quite successfully. However, it would be another two years before the first brew under his later label Sofia Electic Brewing saw the light of day. The process from the original idea to the finished beer was long and hard, but Simeon did not let himself be discouraged. In June 2020 the time had come: the first beer from the brewery in the heart of Sofia was ready. Today, Simeon is no longer alone with his dream: his small team includes him, Kami and Aiden. Kami studied microbiology and took the plunge into the microbrewery scene. Aiden is a trained brewer and worked at renowned breweries such as Põhjala and Siren before his career at Sofia Electric Brewing.

Creative beer for Sofia and the world

By joining forces, the three want to brew beer for the people and make Sofia a center of craft beer. They want to build a lively brewing scene and create a climate in which creativity and the art of brewing intertwine and flourish. In order to keep their own range fresh and varied, the team regularly invites brewers from all over the world for collaborations or visits other breweries. The brewery's range includes a colorful smorgasbord of hopped craft beers and friendship brews. Fun, passion, creativity and joy are top priorities at Sofia Electric - the only thing that is more important is the outstanding taste of their beers.
