Out of enthusiasm for the diverse peculiarities of the people and out of love for their homeland, the brewery only employs real characters. Among the employees are volunteer firefighters, musicians, passionate foresters - a colorful group who share a great passion for beer. The fruits of their collaboration are brews that have just as much character. In addition to down-to-earth classics such as the tasty Märzen, there are young, sparkling creations and seasonal specialties. All beers are brewed with natural hops, which are cultivated with care and dedication by the hop farmers in the Mühlviertel. One of these hop growers is Sepp Reiter, a luminary in his field. He has worked closely with the brewery for years and is known for his preference for walking barefoot. Together with Zipfer and an Italian oven builder, the hop farmer has come up with a drying oven that prepares the fresh hop cones for the brewing process in the gentlest possible way without risking any loss of flavor. A stroke of genius that allows the brewery to brew with natural hops to this day. Other breweries with similar output have long since had to switch to hop pellets or extract, but the Zipfer brewery has remained true to its tradition. rn
The Zipfer house doesn't just make beer: for more than a hundred years, the team has been delighting people not only with their culinary but also with their musical products. The Zipf Brewery Band is a band that was founded in 1919 by the brewery's staff. Whenever there was an internal celebration, the men and women would get out their instruments. Word of the musicians' talent soon got around and they were hired for church festivals, anniversaries, as fun accompaniment to morning pints and all kinds of other events. Currently, bandmaster Ernst Seyfriedsberger leads the group, which is known near and far as the "blue and white Zipfer". Of course, they always have their delicious beer with them. Barley juice and lively music to go with it - you can hardly create a good atmosphere better! In addition to its musical commitment, the brewery sponsors the Linz Athletics Sports Club and supports various bands. Beer is a living cultural asset that is cultivated and celebrated with great joy and commitment at the Zipfer house. rn
