The flagship of the traditional Franconian brewery Fässla is the dark, mildly tasty Zwergla beer. The dark Märzen impresses with slightly sweet notes and a certain malty nuttiness. At 6.0% ABV, it has a pleasant strength that doesn’t blow you away right after the first bottle.
The Fässla brewery once changed hands for a pound of money, but today it is an institution in the world heritage city of Bamberg and a popular meeting place for young and old. The name of its signature beer Zwergla goes back to the little dwarf with a red hat in the brewery’s house coat of arms. He has become a cult figure in Bamberg and adorns all of Fässla’s bottles and of course the Zwergla beer itself. There are rumors that you can even see the dwarf from time to time after you have thoroughly enjoyed the good Zwergla. But we haven’t managed it yet!
Wonderfully drinkable with a full body and little bitterness, it shows why Zwergla beer is one of the most popular beers in and around Bamberg. The perfect companion for a Franconian snack or a cozy get-together with good friends. Zwergla beer – truly “A sip of Bamberg”.
