There is news from Hertl!
New additions to the Hertl brewery's crazy range are always eagerly awaited by the fan base. What did the wild brewer come up with again? What unthinkable ingredient did he throw into the cauldron? The unconventional brewer's latest creation may seem unspectacular compared to cucumber gose and poppy seed beer , but it is not at all. David Hertl demonstrates his expertise and his art of brewing in a calm, delicious way.
Mother's Milk is a Hazy New England India Pale Ale brewed with the highly aromatic Fantasia and Galaxy hops. The powerful 7.0% alcohol content is cleverly integrated into a diverse flavor arrangement and makes the light beer seductively drinkable.
Hertl's breast milk flows into the glass in a shiny coppery amber and is only slightly cloudy. The deep golden beer is crowned by a good amount of milky white foam. A fine aromatic potpourri rises from the airy head of foam, which is made up of yeast, light malt and juicy, fruity hops. The initial drink is wonderfully bitter and drinkable. A wave of fruit caresses the palate, the velvety-soft mouthfeel is reminiscent of a creamy milkshake.
Well balanced and mildly hoppy, this New England IPA delights us and at the same time shows us the subtle and sensitive side of the crazy brewer. Succeeded!
