This name will sound extremely familiar to fans of action-packed science fiction films. However, a golden boy is not only the namesake of this hoppy creation, but also the beer itself. C4 in the title stands for the four hop varieties used, Citra, Chinook, Centennial and Cascade, which not only share the same first letter, but are all highly aromatic and intense in taste.
C4PO is a cold-hopped West Coast IPA brewed American-style in Berlin. The IPA appears in a cloudy amber tone in the glass and presents its hoppy power even before the first sip. First you smell a fruity sweetness of ripe dark tropical fruits. Passion fruit, papaya and pomegranate are met by a spicy note of pine resin, a touch of citrus and a nice bitterness accompany the olfactory experience and make you want to take the first sip. This reveals a full-bodied sweetness that, in addition to tropical fruits, brings to mind fully ripe summer berries. The malt underlines the sweet first impression with notes of soft caramel, followed by a crisp bitterness towards the finish.
C4PO is a fruity, bitter, pleasantly dry and simply delicious beer creation that we particularly like with cheese. A cheese platter with various types of cheese, fruit bread and homemade onion chutney, for example, would wonderfully complement this beer specialty and emphasize the subtle nuances of the yeast varieties.
May the hops be with you!
