At Blech.Brut we think and brew in series: If you look at the range, you can see at first glance which beers form a series. The Bamberg brewery's labels couldn't be more different. Some are made up of geometric shapes in a variety of colors, others depict photographs or show us graphics created by artificial intelligence.
The latest series falls into the latter category and shows us imaginative plants that are reminiscent of the exotic flora of Pandora and present not only bright colors but also wondrous textures. Liana is one of these beers and has a flower on the label made up of feathery petals and alien-like stamens in pastel colors. Behind the mystical-looking design is a light-footed Session IPA.
The densely cloudy beer flows into the glass in a cloudy grain yellow and is decorated with an impressive crown of creamy foam. The cold hopping with the Cascade and Triumph varieties is already noticeable in the scent and gives the nose an olfactory feast of green hints of hops and tropical fruit. This first impression continues in the taste and explodes with strong citrus aromas, notes of freshly harvested hops and crisp bitterness on the tongue. A soft mix of barley, oat and wheat malt rounds off the taste and gives the brew its grippy texture.
