Of course, a red beer should not be missing from the wide range of the Autenried Castle Brewery. Copper represents the red beers wonderfully with its bright color and the skillful balance of strong malt and aromatic hops. The special thing about this beer is the hops: The Autenrieder Schlossbrauerei only uses dried cone hops, but the brewers have chosen the fresh product for this beer. The undried hops are thrown into the kettle almost freshly picked and give the red beer wonderful citrus notes and an incomparable freshness.
The Autenried copper flows into the glass in the same color. A huge crown of slightly tinted, fine-pored foam sits enthroned on the red-brown glowing body. From the stable splendor an irresistible scent of fresh citrus hops and bread-like malt rises into the nose. The initial taste follows the olfactory first impression and plays strong notes of oven-fresh bread crust and roasted malt. Full-bodied and soft, the red beer caresses the palate with a malty variety, before the hops unfold their full aroma in the aftertaste. Lively citrus notes meet the dominant taste of fresh, green hops and form a brilliant finale for the multi-layered beer enjoyment.
The powerful red beer tastes particularly fine with hearty meat dishes. A goose roasted crispy in the oven, for example, goes perfectly with the full-bodied aromas of the beer. With homemade dumplings, red cabbage peppered with apple pieces and juniper berries and a creamy sauce.
