Perfection has a high priority in Japan. When it comes to handicrafts in particular, you strive to become a master of your trade. You learn your whole life and never stop getting a little bit better every day. One knows this perfectionism, bordering on obsession, of sushi chefs or knife manufacturers, but the Japanese are also perfectionists when it comes to beer. When the Kirin Brewery was founded at the beginning of the 20th century, exquisite raw materials were imported from far away Germany in order to come as close as possible to the European original. In addition, German master brewers were hired, who used their expertise and specialist knowledge to create recipes and guide the local team. To this day, Kirin works with discipline and passion to perfect her beer.
A brew piece with a love of detail from the house of Kirin is their classic, Kirin Ichiban. The lager is brewed with the greatest care and the best ingredients and is one of the favorite beers of the Japanese. Due to its subtle, subtly balanced taste, the beer is a stylish accompaniment to a wide range of dishes and tastes good and tasty even without a culinary pairing.
The Japanese word Ichiban, written in 一番, means "the best" when translated - an apt name for this successful beer from distant Japan.
