As you can certainly see from our illustrious selection of crazy beers, we don't shy away from unconventional creations. Cucumbers in beer ? Yes, please! Wild yeasts and even wilder styles? Oh yeah! Beer with pepper , chili or ginger ? Yes, yes and again yes. As you can see, we love unusual brew pieces. However, when we saw the ingredient list for Brewski's Passionate Beet, we were actually skeptical at first.
For their interpretation of the classic Berliner Weisse, the exceptional Swedish brewers combine two things that apparently do not go together at all. Beetroot enchants with its bright color and earthy character, while passion fruit scores with exoticism, freshness and a fruity sweetness. Can this go together? It can!
Marcus and his team have leaned quite far out of the window with their Berliner Weisse, but the risk has more than paid off: The strong red beer combines the down-to-earth nature of beetroot with tropical fruit explosions and hits the mark. Passionate Beet smells and tastes like juicy passion fruit and delivers an amazing harmony of fruity acidity, sunny sweetness, tangy citrus notes and earthy undertones. A wonderfully creamy consistency with sparkling carbon dioxide and a dry, short finish round off the beer enjoyment.
Cheers to daring compositions!
