Brauerei Göller

The fact that beer culture is very important in Bavaria is well known throughout Europe. Year after year, countless people flock to Bavaria's idyllic towns to taste the delicious, hand-crafted beer that has been brewed there for centuries. There are a number of Bavarian breweries that have been brewing continuously for 500 years or more - the Göller brewery in Zeil am Main is one of them.

Thanks be to the Emperor!

The brewery's coat of arms depicts the Bamberg imperial couple, Henry II and Kunigunde. To this day, the two are remembered with great gratitude because they made the founding of the brewery possible. In 1514, the Archbishopric of Bamberg granted the brewery the right to brew and serve beer, thus laying the foundation for the Göller brewery. Brewing in the Alte Freyung flourished and in 1908 it came into the hands of Josef Göller. Together with his wife Margarete, the brewer added a beer garden and a dance hall to the inn. When his son Franz took over the company in 1949, the brewery made a good name for itself in the region thanks to his wife Maria's hearty, down-to-earth and exceptionally fine cuisine. In 1976, the third generation followed: Franz-Josef Göller and his wife Eva immediately took over at the helm of the brewery. The master brewer was named the best brewer in Germany in the same year and ensured that the name Göller became known throughout Germany. Today, his three sons are ready to take over the family brewery in the fourth generation. In parallel with the development of the brewery, the product range has also continued to expand and be refined. The good beer from Göller is produced with sustainability in mind and its taste and brewing skills have repeatedly impressed the juries of recognized competitions.

The Göller Relief Fund

The Göller family has its heart in the right place - you can tell that not only by the fact that they share their delicious beers with us, but also by the Göller Relief Fund, which was founded in 2005. As parents of three sons, Eva and Franz-Josef became aware that there are numerous projects and associations in their region that are worth supporting and that they would like to use their reach to promote charitable causes. They established the Göller Relief Fund and have been providing financial support to kindergartens, life support organizations, church communities, schools, youth work, parents with sick children and private individuals for almost 20 years now. The Göller family provides a large part of the money, and donations from companies and individuals help them. The Göllers are very proud to be part of their vibrant homeland and make a significant contribution to ensuring that the Haßberge region remains a livable home for a wide variety of people in the future.
