Septem

The Latin term Septem means the number seven in German. The Greek brewers of Septem Bier took a liking to this term and dedicated their work to it. A different beer for every day of the week – that was the plan that friends Sofocles Panagiotou and Georgios Panagiotou put into action in 2009. The Greek craft beer manufacturer Septem Bier offers crowd-pleasers such as Friday's Pale Ale , 8th Day IPA , Saturday's Porter and Sunday's Honey Golden Ale . Beers that are made using classic brewing styles and score points with their simple elegance and the unusual idea behind the names. The beer is brewed on the island of Euboea, which is otherwise known for its history-rich past. Just like the holiday paradise, Septem's island products also have something wonderfully unconventional.

Hops in focus

Hops are to beer what grapes are to wine. Following this philosophy, the men at Septem Beer create their beers just like a winemaker composes his wine. Hop varieties from Greece and around the world are carefully examined and only the hops that fit the concept perfectly are ultimately used for the beer. In order to preserve the full hop aroma during the brewing process, the beer is not pasteurized. Panagiotou believes that beer is not just a refreshing drink for a summer visit to the cellar, but is in no way inferior to wine in terms of sophistication and complexity. A delicious menu accompanied by various Septem beers that match the food? Yes, please!

The Septem Beer success story

Sofocles Panagiotou, co-founder of Septem Beer and originator of the motto, is a chemist and oenologist and has devoted his life to researching and perfecting wine. As a passionate beer drinker, in 2009 he came up with the idea of applying the principles of his work to brewing beer - a plan that has brought him great success and has already earned him numerous awards and prizes. Unlike many craft beer brewers who start as homebrewers in their own kitchens, Sofocles Panagiotou set up his business properly right from the start. Together with his business partner and friend Georgios Panagiotou, he took every step of the company's founding and in the end they had their own professional brewery. Septem Beer is a successful brewery that fits perfectly into the exclusive range of the Bierothek®.
