Beer is the great passion of the team behind ÜberQuell, you can see and taste it!
The far north is known for many things: delicious fish sandwiches, the Elbphilharmonie, seagulls and its dry humor. But now Hamburg has a new attraction! The small, creative microbrewery ÜberQuell Brauwerkstätten has been located in St. Pauli since 2017. With handmade beer from real people for people, pizza from the stone oven and a lot of passion, the makers have been attracting countless beer fans ever since.
Even though the guys from St. Pauli have a reputation for being tough guys, there is one thing you can't write off: passion. And that is what makes ÜberQuell a real highlight in Hamburg's culinary landscape. Axel Ohm and Patrick Rüther are the brilliant minds behind the project and the people who designed and built the microbrewery, brewpub and pizza bar. They brought Tobias Hess on board to make the beer. The master brewer from Bavaria has already swung the mash paddle all over the world and is now the master of the kettles in Hamburg's newest pearl. The guys have found the perfect location for their passion project in Hamburg's Riverkasematten. In addition to the brewery, the brewpub and the small pizzeria, the spacious grounds allow for a number of other projects. For example, there is a garden in which herbs and all kinds of vegetables are grown as part of the urban gardening movement. There is so much passion and enthusiasm in every corner of the complex that you can't help but be infected by it!
Of course, there is one thing that cannot be forgotten with the abundance of good ideas and projects: the beer! And it is, like everything else that Axel, Patrick and Tobias tackle, fabulous! A stone's throw from the brewpub's taps, you can watch the brewer at work. The microbrewery in St. Pauli brews the beers for the brewery's own pub and changing beer specialties. There was no room for the bottling plant, so part of the range is brewed and bottled by friends of the guys in Traunstein. But their great passion for beer is not only evident in their brewed products, you can also see it for yourself on site. In the ÜberQuell brewery, you can not only buy beer, but also hold seminars and tours that focus on our favorite drink.
St. Paulis Bieroase is our new favorite place in the far north and a brewery that makes honest, handmade and excellent beers.
