We recommend Doppelbock to everyone who is really up for it.
The Doppelbock is an extremely rich beer specialty that is traditionally brewed in the winter months. Between October and April rain, sleet, snow and wind rule the day’s events and you need something strong. The Doppelbock from Faust comes in at the right time: With a lot of malt power and even more complex taste nuances, the strong beer comforts you regardless of the weather and makes the cold season a feast for the senses.
The Miltenberger Doppelbock presents itself in the color of chestnuts in the glass. Copper-red reflections shine when light falls, a medium-pored foam crowns the amber-colored splendor. Even more tempting than the look, however, is the scent that rises in your nose when you open the bottle: Strong sherry combines with aromas of dark caramel, creamy honey, dried apricots and roasted nuts. The first taste reveals a massive body with a complex, multi-layered aroma. Toasted malt is the first thing that hits the taste buds. Notes of candied, dark fruits, caramel and fruit bread contribute to the heavy sweetness. A pleasant bitterness creates a nice contrast, the soft, almost creamy texture makes the Doppelbock even more luxurious. Roasted aromas and a fine nuttiness add further layers to the aroma structure. The finish is soft, sweet and pleasantly dry.
An excellent Doppelbock!
