The Hefeweizen is a classic German style of beer made from wheat malt, water, hops and yeast. In contrast to other types of beer, which are mainly brewed from barley malt, at least 50% wheat malt is used for the wheat beer. This ingredient gives the beer its characteristic aroma and its delicately cloudy, golden colour. Another feature of the Hefeweizen is the flavorful presence of yeast in the beer: it ensures lively carbonation, the stately, dense head of foam and a great spiciness. Due to their fruity character, Hefeweizen taste particularly good in warm temperatures, but a wheat beer is also fun in winter thanks to its strong body.
A trophy hunter among the wheat is the Faust specimen. The brewery has already enchanted numerous judges with its interpretation of the classic and inspires us too. Their light wheat beer is characterized by its high proportion of wheat and flows into the glass in a gold streak of yeast. A fruity scent of ripe banana rises from the impressive head of foam, the initial sip follows the olfactory first impression. Mild and with a soft sweetness, notes of banana, clove, creamy blossom honey and caramel settle on the tongue. A sparkling hint of citrus gives the beer its elegant freshness.
