The Camba Bavaria brewery from Chiemsee launched the Braumeister Edition a few years ago. This special brew, which is released monthly, is only brewed once and is created by a different person each time. This gives the brewmasters on the team the opportunity to try out their beer ideas and express themselves creatively. The beers are strictly limited and usually a little more unusual than the brews in the core range.
The brewmaster edition for May 2024 is number 74 in the series and comes from the mind of Tobias Huber. The brewmaster has come up with a cold-hopped wheat beer called Nelson Reloaded, which gives us a small hint as to one of the hop varieties used. In addition to Citra and Mosaic, a generous amount of Nelson Sauvin also goes into the kettle. The illustrious mixture is completed with Pilsener, Munich and wheat malt as well as the Cara Hell variety and fermented with the help of a wheat beer yeast. The clear leader in terms of taste, however, is the eponymous Nelson: the green gold gives the drink a dominant fruitiness that tastes of white grapes and sun-ripened citrus fruits. Mosaic and Citra are decorative accessories and support the main character with additional fruit notes.
Nelson Reloaded is pure summer fun and a refreshing treat for the coming months!
