The Gampert brewery from Weißenbrunn near Kronach is one of the breweries in Franconia that have been in existence for hundreds of years. More than 500 if you want to be exact. In the course of this unbelievable history of brewing, master brewers have brewed countless beers, tried out thousands of recipes, improved them, discarded them or added them to the range, they have celebrated successes, put up with defeats and enjoyed the finest beer at every opportunity. After the brewery was in the hands of the Gampert family for a long time, the Höfner siblings are now at the helm and continue the work of their predecessors with passion, dedication and enthusiasm.
In 2014 the brewery celebrated its 500th anniversary. Of course, this grandiose occasion had to be watered with a suitable brew. The team worked flat out on the perfect recipe and finally found what they were looking for: The anniversary drink is a strong special beer with a festive 5.5% alcohol content and full-bodied spiciness. The subtly rounded beer plays a skilful mixture of sweet malt and harmonious bitterness. In the glass, the celebratory drop shines in a copper-toned amber-gold with a coarse-pored, eggshell-colored head of foam. Roasted grain, caramel, honey, orange peel and herbal hops permeate the scent and taste.
The beer is not in stock all year round, but is brewed from time to time for happy occasions and festivals.
