The shandy is one of the most popular drinks in summer, but where does the ominous, beer-containing mixed drink come from? Legend has it that Franz Xaver Kugler invented the shandy in 1922. The Kugler Alm was already a popular excursion destination back then and was regularly overrun by visitors, especially when the weather was nice. On such a day the landlord threatened to run out of beer. In order to protect himself from this nakedness, the resourceful Franz Xaver quickly invented the shandy.
The Hösl brewery also has a cyclist in its range: its natural cyclist. The naturally cloudy shandy appears slightly cloudy in the glass. It is unfiltered and therefore contains solids, insoluble turbidity and suspended particles. These can be leftovers of malt, hops and yeast, proteins and starch. This type of beer is particularly recommended for consumption after exercise because of its richness in nutrients. In the nose you immediately have the pure lemon aroma. The Hösl brewery relies on natural lemon juice for its naturally cloudy shandy. The lemon completely dominates the initial taste. Very tangy and absolutely refreshing, also not very sweet. The hops and malt aromas of the beer only come into their own in the body.
