A fine drop deserves a special bottle — That’s what the brewers at the Grasser brewery in Huppendorf thought and packed their delicious Franconian full beer in a chic 0.33l bottle with a narrow, decorated rim and a bulbous body. The small gourmet bottle visually accentuates the tasty beer and invites you to enjoy it.
Anyone who has admired the bottle in detail will be rewarded with an enticing aroma when opening it: a symphony of sun-ripened grain, tenderly melting caramel and buttery yeast dough rises from the luminous golden beer with stable, fine-pored foam. The initial sip follows the olfactory first impression and reveals a powerful body with fine, lively sparkling carbonic acid and a subtly coordinated, round character. The first impression is malty and spoils the palate with a cornucopia of full-bodied cereal notes that taste of lightly roasted malt, creamy toffee and oven-fresh yeast plait. Gradually, notes of crispy rye bread and spicy forest honey are added. The enjoyment of the beer ends in a short, crisp finish that makes you want more with its mild bitterness.
The Huppendorfer Vollbier is a Franconian classic that tastes particularly good with snacks, roasts and grilled food. Our favorite with it: Grilled chicken breast marinated in garlic and herbs on fresh summer salads with pomegranate seeds, walnuts, goat’s cheese and caper vinaigrette.
