A dream of bitters.
Amaris 50 from Riegele BierManufaktur is an Imperial Pilsener that has an incredible 50 bitter units. Anyone expecting an inedible bitter bomb will be pleasantly surprised: Amaris 50 presents a subtly composed palette of delicious hop nuances. The varieties Hersbrucker, Mittel Früh, Hallertauer Perle and Opal form a sophisticated taste construct and dress the crisp bitterness in diverse layers of fine aromas.
Amaris 50 flows into the glass in a shiny, very delicate gold tone and is crowned by an impressive amount of snow-white foam. A wonderful hop flower rises from the fine-pored crown to the nose: floral fruitiness meets green herbs and refreshing citrus notes. The initial taste reveals a slim, light-footed body with dry aromas and a strong, constantly increasing bitterness. The Imperial Pilsner is exceptionally hoppy on the tongue. Pink grapefruit meets mandarin, lemon, freshly cut grass, herbs and white pepper. The malt contributes a subtle base that tastes reserved of caramel and forest honey. The tangy perlage gives the beer a luxurious creaminess that goes perfectly with the crisp bitterness and complex hop notes. The crowning finish is really bitter and nice and dry.
Riegeles Amaris 50 is a refreshing pilsner that stands out from the competition thanks to its variety of aromas and cleverly combined notes of fruit, hops and delicate malt.
A must for Pilsner fans!
