There are twins among the fine beer creations from the S. Riegele brewery: Auris 19 and Ator 20 are siblings who couldn’t be more different. Auris represents the light with a whopping 9.0% alcohol content, a glistening gold body and fiery aromas, while Ator is its dark counterpart. The strong strong beer is a sensual seduction in rust-red shimmering mahogany and captivates with full-bodied roasted notes, a voluminous malt body and deep hints of caramel.
Riegeles Ator 20 brings an impressive 7.5 vol. % into the glass and contains the power of three different types of malt. The abundance of grain contrasts with a tasty duo of the Hallertauer Perle and Opal hop varieties, which remain discreetly in the background. The main role is clearly played by the malt.
The dark temptation flows into the glass in a coppery chestnut tone and is crowned with fragrant foam. A bouquet of roasted malt and buttery caramel fills the air and skillfully tempts you to take the first sip. The taste test reveals the full volume of the strong beer and caresses the tongue with sparkling carbonic acid. A cornucopia of roasted aromas unfolds and meets freshly brewed espresso, fine chocolate, candied dark berries and toasted grain on the palate. Hints of rum raisins and liquorice give the beer a wonderful flavor and that certain something.
