To celebrate their 19th anniversary, Stone Brewing couldn’t help but brew a fierce Double India Pale Ale. The IPA in all its culinary facets is the brewery’s hobbyhorse and must therefore of course also serve as a festival beer. In order to do justice to the special occasion, the team limited their hop varieties to one country. Australia is home to a whole host of unique species, including exceptional varieties of green gold. The Vic Secret, Galaxy and Ella varieties originate from the sun-drenched hop gardens of Australia and from there have spread all over the world. They give the mighty DIPA called Downunderstruck from Stone exuberant notes of tropical fruit with dominant hints of citrus and peach as well as a crisp bitterness.
The birthday beer presents itself in a warm honey gold in the glass and is adorned with a white crown. Exotic notes, pineapple, lemon and peach unite in the nose to an excellent first impression and introduce the beer pleasure in a promising way. The taste is composed of tropical fruits and ensnares the palate with golden mango, juicy pineapple, ripe papaya and tangy citrus components. A long-lasting bitterness ends the drinking fun and makes you want another can of Downunderstruck.
Happy Birthday Stone Brewing!
