When you think of beautiful Franconia, you immediately have images of sunny yellow cornfields, flowering meadows, dark forests and hearty food in your head. Anyone who visits Franconia will notice that these impressions are not that far from reality. The Franconian landscape is dotted with wide fields, lush meadows, pastures and large, old forests. Rolling hills and rocky heights feed springs that become cheerfully babbling streams. If you're lucky, you'll even see one of the iridescent trout swimming in it. But the Franconians agree, it's not the fabulous landscape that defines their area, it's the beer! Hardly any other region in Germany is so rich when it comes to breweries and beers. Franconia is a true oasis for beer lovers!
By the way, anyone who thinks the word “Frankonian” is misspelled doesn’t know the Franconians. Hardly any ethnic group is as stubborn and proud as the Franconians. They just do what they want.
Frankonian Dark is a dark lager from Libertus Craft Brewing that has 5.3% alcohol content. It flows into the glass in a deep, dark mahogany tone and forms a small head of foam. Wonderfully dark aromas of strong roasted malt, soft caramel and dried red fruits emerge from the hazelnut-brown, fine-pored foam. The initial taste is also malty and confirms the first impression with a range of malty flavor nuances. Dark malt meets beautiful roasted aromas, a soft sweetness caresses the palate. A touch of freshly baked bread is added. The hops only add a dry bitterness to the aromatics.
Frankonian Dark is a well-made, dark lager that is dry and very drinkable.
