In our wide variety of different beer creations, there is one that stands out with its exquisite creations. We’re talking about Dr. Thomas Tyrell, who specializes in the production of particularly fine brewing pieces. All of his masterpieces are bottled in champagne bottles with real corks and are arranged in series that the creative mind puts together season after season to create a sophisticated beer menu.
For the past three years, a so-called barley wine has always been part of the menu: This special type of beer is called barley wine in English and is traditionally made from the Vorderwort. This component of the brew contains the largest proportion of original wort and, thanks to additional evaporation, delivers maximum intensity and taste. Selected caramel malts are roasted especially for the barley wine and, in addition to the soft, caramel-like sweetness, provide a fine, harmoniously balanced roasted bitterness. The final step is the refinement: the finished brew is matured on wood from disused cognac barrels.
At the end of the complex process there is an elegant beer that impresses with its full-bodied character and silky-smooth mouthfeel. Creamy caramel melts on the tongue, spicy and subtly sour wood notes ensnare the palate, the aroma of ripe wild berries tickles the taste buds and a pointed bitterness brings the individual components together and combines them into a seductive enjoyment for special moments.
