After David Hertl from the Hertl brewery revolutionized the spirits market with his innovative hop gin and the matching tonic , more and more breweries are finding favor with the idea and daring to create their own versions of the beer-based gin.
One of these breweries is Vulkan from the Eifel. The basis of their gin is their popular organic pale ale: a clear spirit is distilled from the tasty beer with a tropical fruity character, which is then refined with the finest hops. Both the hop varieties for the Pale Ale and the Cascade hops in the gin come from organic farming and are of the best organic quality. They conjure up a wealth of exotic fruit notes in the schnapps and ideally complement the traditional aroma with juniper and other herbs. The distillate brings a powerful 44% alcohol content into the glass and is the right choice for special moments.
Due to its fresh, herbal and fruity aroma, the gin is a great aperitif for light, Mediterranean menus. All kinds of cheese, but also fish and seafood, go wonderfully with gin and are a harmonious accompaniment. We also enjoy a glass or two of it as a stomach-friendly dessert after a heavy, hearty meal.
