Although the Aoltbeer is already a unique specialty with a consistently regional character, the Kemker Kultuur team has taken it one step further. Each version of the newly launched Münster classic is refined with other ingredients. Number 03-2022 focuses on the fruity diversity of Westphalia and enriches the complex sour beer with the summery sweetness of regional cherries and blackcurrants. The cherries were hand-picked by the brewing team, the dark berries come from the farm of organic farmer Maria Plagge.
The sprightly farmer is a real institution in the area. Despite her advanced age, the Münsterland native stands at her market stall every day and sells the fruits of her labor. Maria spends the rest of the time managing her farm: her repertoire includes asparagus, old apple varieties, rhubarb and all kinds of berries. Their blackcurrants crown the regional beer from Kemker Kultuur and not only give it its beautiful, copper-red shimmering colour.
The Aoltbeer in the fruit version is characterized by a playful, fruity acidity and its great elegance. Juicy cherry and currant notes run through the entire beer enjoyment and ensure lightness and balance. Subtle herbal aromas, woody hints, light-footed bitterness and a fine tartness complete the taste profile perfectly.
