As you know, we have a soft spot for brews that not only taste good, but also do good. That’s why we were thrilled when Dutch brewery Gebrouwen Door Vrouwen released their latest creation. Their Zonnig Zeewit is an unconventional wheat that was created in partnership with the Seaweed Farmers and supports their work with ten cents per can sold. The Seaweed Farmers are an Amsterdam-based organization that produces biological fertilizer and bioplastics from algae. With their work, they want to shed light on the value of algae for the circular economy and create awareness of marine plants. Cultivating algae removes Co2 from the atmosphere and provides habitat for marine animals and birds. We are delighted that our and your beer consumption can help this project worth supporting!
The brewers behind Zonnig Zeewit prove that algae are not only incredibly useful and versatile. Your brew contains a good portion of it: the sea vegetables enrich the aromatic play of orange peel and other citrus notes as well as light malt with mineral, subtly salty undertones.
Thanks to the gentle 3.8% alcohol content, you can have more than one can and sustainably support the work of the Seaweed Farmers. Cheers to our seas and their amazing fruits!
