The quintessence of Italy in hoppy form - an Italian dream!
For most of us, Italy conjures up colorful images of wonderful pine-lined beaches, delicious pizza and pasta, idyllic olive groves and, last but not least, juicy, sunny-yellow lemons. The latter are considered a fruity symbol of Italy and have been grown there for more than 2,000 years. Citrus fruits grow particularly well on the sunny slopes of Sicily and develop their distinctive aroma over the course of the hot Italian summer. The master brewers at Birra Karma love their country and have managed to bottle this passion. Your own Lemon Ale is the sun of Italy in liquid form and a lemony-fresh drinking experience that is second to none.
The cloudy golden ale exudes a delicate citrus smell that is complemented by grassy notes. The addition of coriander immediately makes you think of Belgian Witbier. However, there are some differences in taste compared to Witbier. Although the lemon ale is fruity, the fruit notes are restrained and not overwhelming. The coriander creates a slightly tart note when drunk, which creates an interesting tension with the sweet fruit notes. The finish is crisp and pleasantly bitter.
After Italy had to cede the title of number one lemon exporting nation to Mexico, new markets are now being opened up. Beer instead of citrus fruits. If this beer continues to be as excellent as Karma’s Lemon Ale, then we are more than happy with this development.
