Even though the Lehe brewery in Estonia tends to focus on massive, deep black creations with a dizzying amount of alcohol and malt, the brewers sometimes feel like brewing something different. The team has dared a delicious excursion to the light side of power and made a juicy pale ale that could also have come from sunny California thanks to its cheerful fruit character. The creation is called Typical Tropical and does everything that it promises with the title and the design of the can.
The summery brew flows into the glass in the color of liquid sunshine and wears a crown of white foam on the richly cloudy body. The pleasure of fruit begins in the nose: A cocktail of orange, pineapple, passion fruit and tangy citrus fruits fills the air and makes you thirsty at the first sip. The taste test reveals the fruity secret of pale ales. Lehe’s creation is filled to the brim with tropical-tasting hop varieties. The green gold delivers juicy notes of lemon, yellow stone fruit and passion fruit. So that the beer is not confused with freshly squeezed juice, the brewers have incorporated a crisp bitterness. This skilfully balances out the exuberant fruitiness and makes Typical Tropical a refreshing beer treat for moments of wanderlust.
