Sour instead of bitter!
As a rule, a pilsner is one thing above all: bitter. The Sour Pilsener from Sakiškių alus is completely different. As the name suggests, this pilsner is not bitter with hops, but fruity and sour. Pils with a difference.
In Germany, pilsner drinkers are still in the majority despite the craft beer movement. Classic beer with a bitter bitterness tastes good to most people and always works. If you are one of the broad masses of pilsner fans but want to surprise your palate with something new, then this beer is just right for you! The step towards craft beer has never been as easy and delicious as with this pilsner, which was brewed in a classic style but still offers a whole new world of taste.
Sakiškių alus Sour Pilsener is visually indistinguishable from conventional Pilsner: slightly cloudy gold with a bright white head. But in the smell you can tell that you're not looking at an ordinary Pilsner. Instead of bitter hop flowers, you can smell a fruity variety of citrus-fresh notes paired with the scent of crunchy, green apples. A fine, complex intensity that is reflected one-to-one in the taste. The tangy freshness of citrus fruits and unripe apples meets a subtle malt note and a nice hop bitterness on the tongue, which, however, is not as present as in normal pilsner.
This Pilsner stretches the definition of style to unimagined heights and will surprise and delight one or two die-hard Pilsner drinkers!
