Christmas is family time. We retreat to our four walls, meet up with our loved ones and enjoy the quiet, peaceful season. We give each other carefully selected and lovingly wrapped gifts, we bake delicious cookies together, we build snowmen and igloos when the first snow has fallen, we cut a Christmas tree in the forest and decorate it festively just before Christmas Eve. Because beer makes everything that little bit cozier, many breweries brew special festival beers during Advent. These seasonal delicacies are only available in winter and sweeten them with their full body and finely tart flavor.
A delicious specimen comes from Gampert. An idyllic winter scene with a cobalt blue sky, a golden crescent moon, glittering stars and a snow-covered village adorns the label and whets the appetite for the cold season. And of course the beer behind it. The brew pours into the glass the color of golden Christmas tree balls and is adorned with a little cap of snow-white foam. The smell and taste of the festival beer are characterized by light malt, roasted nuts, creamy caramel and hoppy herbal notes. The crowning glory is a finish that tastes of freshly grated orange peel and bitter hop blossoms.
Our choice for a particularly contemplative time!
