The simplest beer from the Hertl brewery is a cellar beer like it is in the book: amber with a copper tint in the glass, subtle grain aromas and a nice, soft malt taste.
If you’re wondering why we call this excellent cellar beer "simple", you should take a closer look at the illustrious range from Franconia’s smallest brewery. David Hertl, the brains and heart behind the brewery, is known for his love of experimentation and crazy creations. In addition to down-to-earth classics with a modern touch, there are unusual items such as a truffle ale or his world-famous cucumber gose. Nothing is impossible with the Hertls, that much is certain.
It’s no surprise that even the seemingly normal Kellerpils is not monotonous and unspectacular. Grandpa’s favorite is a delicately composed light beer with a crisp bitter note and a range of great aromas. The beer flows into the glass in a cloudy amber tone and has a slightly coppery shimmer. An airy, white foam crowns the beer, the fine perlage reveals a fine malt aroma that spreads caramelly and slightly bready in the nose and meets floral hops and a gentle fruitiness. The initial taste follows the olfactory first impression and delights with sweet malt, floral hops, great fruitiness and nice bitterness.
An excellent cellar beer that goes perfectly with hearty home cooking. And so tasty that you can have a second one!
