Of course, master brewer David Hertl, founder and crazy hop magician from Schlüsselfeld, plays first fiddle in the Hertl house. But there are a lot of other people at Hertl’schen Hof who make their contribution to the brewery every day. David’s dad Bernd can always be found somewhere in the brewery, Mama Vroni cooks for the entire workforce, Jimmy takes his first shaky steps as a young brewer and Felix Dengler is currently starting his apprenticeship at the Hertls.
To give a fitting welcome to the newest member of the brewing family, David has designed a beer that perfectly captures Felix’s character and wild ideas. His beer is called Maracuja Felix, has his face on the label and calls itself Maracuja Pastry Sour Ale.
The sour beer tastes like a fine dessert and is brewed with passion fruit puree and lactose. In the glass, the delicacy is a naturally cloudy corn yellow and is crowned with a delicate veil of white foam. A fragrant cloud of passion fruit and other tropical fruit whets the appetite for the first sip. The taste follows quickly: juicy notes of sun-ripened passion fruit combine with sour notes of citrus and all kinds of tropical fruits to create an irresistible mixture.
Welcome to the world of brewing, dear Felix!
