The Franconian brewery Grasser from Huppendorf is known far beyond the borders of Franconia for its excellent beer. The brewery has been in family hands for more than 250 years and attaches great importance to supplying the steadily growing fan community with beer that not only tastes great, but can also be enjoyed with a clear conscience: In addition to its own solar system, the brewery also has it a wood chip system that is operated with wood chips from regional forests around the brewery. And the raw materials for the beer also come from the region: water from the dry valley, hops from the Hallertau and Spalt, barley from Franconian farmers.

Under these conditions the beer can really only be good.

And that’s it: One of our favorites is the Huppendorfer Weizenbock, a powerful strong beer with a Franconian character and a quick-witted 8.0% alcohol content. The specialty from Huppendorf is presented in copper-golden amber in the glass and is adorned with a stately crown of slightly tinted, firm foam. A wheat-typical scent of banana rises from the thick foam, which then combines in the nose with the aromas of raisins, toffee and candied walnuts dipped in chocolate. In terms of taste, the winter wheat follows the olfactory first impression and caresses the palate with notes of freshly baked banana bread with nuts, spicy yeast and cream caramel. A hint of grassy hops and a small citrus note provide freshness and contrast.

A masterpiece.
