The Bavarian breweries are divided into two camps: Some are traditionalists and have ranges consisting of established classics; the others are more modern and brew with joy in experimentation and enthusiasm for innovation and newly discovered raw materials. The S. Riegele brewery from Augsburg is one of the few breweries that dares to walk the balancing act between both worlds and spans a bridge between tradition and the modern art of brewing. In addition to craft-brewed, down-to-earth beers, their repertoire includes a whole range of young, contemporary styles that are brewed with the same expertise and dedication - just like the traditional variants.
The selection of modern creations includes, for example, Noctus 100. The beer, affectionately dubbed "Black Secret" by the brewers, is a powerfully aromatic imperial stout with a deep black soul and a powerful 10.0 vol. %. The Imperial Stout is a classic that is experiencing a renaissance and is being interpreted in new, innovative ways by many brewers. Flavorful elements of this beery enchantment are tangy Irish ale yeast and a generous helping of chocolate and roast malts. However, the grain is not only responsible for the taste but also for the wonderful colour: Noctus 100 presents itself in the color of freshly brewed filter coffee in the glass and is crowned with a fine-pored crown of nut-colored foam. Scent and aroma are a complex network of dark roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate and candied red fruits. A noble bitterness complements the powerful sweetness and refines the beer enjoyment with pinpoint accuracy.
