A wheat beer tastes good at any time of the year, but in summer the fruity, fresh beer is a very special treat. The wheat combines soft notes of sun-ripened, golden grain with warm spice and a tropical hint of banana. The non-slip texture is reminiscent of a milkshake and the delicate cloudy gold reflects the sun in the azure sky - pure summer!
Because most wheat beers have an alcohol content of around 5.0% despite being extremely drinkable, you can only treat yourself to them when the working day is over and you have no further plans or errands on your calendar. It is different with the light white beer from the HOLZHAUSER brewery: This feather-light treat brings a slim 2.4% alcohol content into the glass and can therefore also be drunk on Saturday lunchtime. The summery wheat combines the classic taste of banana, cloves and cereals with a hint of roasted nuts and is therefore also perfect as a tasty accompaniment to dessert.
We prefer to serve an ice-cold light white with a homemade nut cake according to grandma’s old recipe: fluffy dough with toasted hazelnuts and a good dash of rum, plus a generous dollop of vanilla cream, a pinch of cinnamon and a well-tempered wheat beer. A summer afternoon dream!
