The Munich brewing mafiosi abbey has gained a powerful addition! The new monks at MBM come in orange, pink and gray clothes and give us alcohol contents between 9.5 and 12.5 percent. In addition to the sensory twists and turns, the three new ones contain exciting extra ingredients and a whole lot of heavenly taste.
At this point we would like to introduce you to the Orange Monk: This brew is a so-called Sea Buckthorn Saison, a Belgian-inspired farmhouse ale that has been refined with sea buckthorn juice. In addition to the vitamin-rich coastal berries, there is a whopping 9.5% alcohol content, barley and wheat malt as well as a spicy seasonal yeast. The latter adds the subtle spiciness of white pepper to the aromatics.
The Orange Monk from Munich Brew Mafia flows into the glass in a coppery, shimmering honey gold and has a mixed-pored crown of white foam on the only slightly cloudy body. A fine aroma of freshly harvested sea buckthorn rises to the nose and tempts you to drink with fruity orange notes. The taste follows the olfactory first impression and puts the sea buckthorn at the center of the action. The crisp acidity, the fruity sweetness and the wonderful freshness of the orange berries combine on the palate with spicy yeast and a skilfully placed hint of white pepper. A lively carbon dioxide gives the brewing piece the finishing touch.
