Imagine: Equipped with a snorkel, diving mask and fins, you paddle relaxed through the gentle waves of a coral reef that shimmers in bright colors. Schools of colorful fish accompany you. Unsuspectingly, you peer behind a particularly magnificent coral formation and look straight into the eyes of an octopus, wide in shock. If we didn't know better, we would say that this shocked squid is Alfons. The title character of Braukollektiv Freiburg's New England IPA stares at the label with wide eyes - as if he had just seen the strange human species in colorful swimming trunks and with a snorkel visage for the first time in his life.
However, if you get over the shock of the first contact, Alfons turns out to be a loyal friend. With the suction power of countless suction cups and the fruity power of three types of hops, it attaches itself to our taste buds and remains in our memory. The New England IPA from Braukollektiv Freiburg is a loose, flaky, light version of its genre and comes with clean, crisp hop notes and a wonderfully refreshing fruitiness. Three different types of malt form a smooth base for the hoppy aromas and ideally balance the bitterness. Alfons is a fruit bomb that is so tasty that after the first bottle you actually want to open the next one straight away.
This octopus also tastes good to vegetarians, we promise!
