The Baden brewery Welde prides itself on its hand-brewed beer creations and has a balanced range of reinterpreted classics, aroma-intensive craft beers and the finest draft beer. A favorite in the repertoire of discerning craft brewers is their India Pale Ale. This beer style is one of the classics as well as a craft beer and is a revived version of a beer originally intended for export to the colonies. The specimen from Welde is cold-hopped with the hop varieties Azacca, Cascade and Sorachi Ace and is bursting with fruity and fresh taste nuances.
Weldes IPA is presented in a copper-red shimmering chestnut shade in the glass and forms a hand’s breadth of white, fine-pored foam. A seductive fragrance rises from the fleeting splendor, made up of fruity notes, caramel and spicy herbal notes. The initial taste reveals a voluminous body with carbonic acid that flatters the palate, mild sweetness and strong bitterness. Green fruits are the beginning, while drinking pleasure, tangy citrus notes, juicy orange, golden mango and a hint of pine resin join in. The malt adds hints of oven-fresh cookies and soft caramel notes. The finish is crisp and bitter and, with its pine notes and fruity sweetness, makes you want another bottle.
The India Pale Ale from the Welde brewery is a drinkable thirst quencher with a fruity character.
