Doom Boy is the third member of the latest creations in the Sudden Death Brewing Company’s range. The hop magicians from Timmendorfer Strand once again prove their magical power and have put tons of the finest hops into their new beers.
The Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale Doom Boy is exactly the right beer for dark times. It was stuffed with the hops Mosaic BBC, Bru-1 and HBC 586, and three different types of malt ensure a velvety texture. HBC 586 is a brand new and hot new hop variety from the United States that all craft brewers are raging about right now. The hops from the Yakima Valley are known for their distinctive fruit character and conjure up fruit notes of unimagined intensity in the beer. In addition, HBC 586 ensures a strong resin aroma, which complements the juicy fruit wonderfully. Very promising!
Doom Boy presents itself in a creamy light yellow in the glass and looks like naturally cloudy apple juice. A fleeting crown of white foam sits on the golden beer and exudes a seductive scent of tropical fruit. In the initial taste, a strong body with mild carbonization is presented: rich fruit notes gently wash around the palate, the hops are bitter, sweet, tropical, fruity, resinous and grassy at the same time. You can tell that true hop masters were at work and elicited even the smallest nuance from the hops used.
