There are a lot of different names and expressions that older people have for the younger generation. Youngster, tot, little Matz, greenhorn, milkbeard, Pimpf and Gernegross are just a few examples.
The Blech.Brut brewery takes the conflict of generations with humor and has created a series that takes up the cheeky names of seniors for young people and assigns them wonderful beers. The so-called Granny Series includes half a dozen different India Pale Ales, which are brewed with outrageous amounts of hops and could even animate 100-year-olds to dance a little with joy.
A favorite in the series is Spring Chicken: The powerful Double IPA brings a whopping 8.0% and an intense composition of the hop varieties Cryo Pop, HBC 520 and The Bruce to the table. Four types of malt endow the Hop Festival with stature and a silky smooth mouthfeel. In the glass, the DIPA presents itself in a densely cloudy light gold. A mixture of citrus fruits, yeast, coconut and tropical fruit rises from the fleeting crown of airy foam. The taste is composed of oven-fresh biscuits, gently roasted malt, floral hops, toasted coconut and tropical fruits. A hint of vanilla harmonises wonderfully with the juicy notes of passion fruit, papaya, guava, pineapple, mango and melon.
