The word Whippersnapper is a flower of the English language, the German translation of which does not do it justice. The closest thing to it would be to say greenhorn or Gernegross, but neither of these expressions has the panache and charm of the English equivalent. A whippersnapper is a bloody beginner who wants to compete with the big ones, but goes down mercilessly. A little impostor who still has a lot to learn.

The same cannot be said at all about the beers or the skills from Blech.Brut: The Bamberg microbrewery has an incredibly comprehensive range of constantly changing highlights and has made a good name for itself in the industry with award-winning creations. And that despite the fact that the master brewer responsible is far from sixty years old.

One of the beers is still called Whippersnapper, but we suspect that’s because of the cute sound of the word. The beer with the snappy title is a Double New England IPA brewed with four types of malt and four corresponding hop varieties. The brew piece has a crisp 7.6% alcohol content and is hoppy in both the scent and the taste: Sunny citrus fruit combines with freshly mown grass, stone fruits and tropical hints to create the perfect mixture with a finely bitter finish.
