Veloria Spectra is a plant that came from the imagination of the brewers at Blech.Brut. At first glance the flower looks like aloe vera, but as you look closer you discover more and more elements that seem to be completely out of this world. The individual petals resemble tentacles and lead into sticky-looking antennae that curiously explore their surroundings. The stem and lower leaves consist of a branched system of fine fibers and the plant has a color spectrum that extends from warm yellow to a pastel turquoise blue.
The only thing even more interesting than this mystical plant is the beer behind it: to match the mysterious Veloria Spectra, the brewery has brewed a juicy India Pale Ale that revolves around a single hop variety. Talus is a fairly young hop that gives the brew powerful notes of tangy grapefruit and hints of spicy pine resin. His other repertoire delivers floral and woody undertones as well as notes of stone fruits and coconut. Thanks to dry hopping, the entire spectrum of Talus comes into its own and forms an elegant IPA that combines floral playfulness, big resin notes, tropical fruit, tart grapefruit and a crisp bitterness into a harmonious whole. The decent 6.5% alcohol content rounds off the taste experience perfectly.
