For many, California is the epitome of a dream place to live: year-round sunshine and pleasant temperatures, beaches with white sand and crystal clear water, palm trees, a good atmosphere, delicious food and a relaxed, flaky atmosphere. This is exactly the vibe that the Sierra Nevada brewery, located in Chico, California, exudes.
Sierra Nevada is known for the hoppy creations and the drinkable beer. The American brand is associated with tanned surfers, the holiday mood and the relaxed manner of the Californians. The latest addition to the brewery’s wide range sums up the California feeling perfectly and has a fitting name: The California IPA is a tasty session IPA that inspires with its fruity-fresh character and great hop notes. The Simcoe, Crystal and Chinook hops are responsible for the pine and citrus notes, while the malt brings balance and a soft texture into play.
Sierra Nevada’s California IPA is presented in a slightly cloudy gold tone in the glass and is adorned with a small cap of white foam. A strong scent of light malt, tangy citrus fruit, freshly squeezed oranges, tart grapefruit and pine resin seduces you to take the first sip. This reveals a light-footed body with lively carbon dioxide and a velvety mouthfeel. Juicy notes of various citrus fruits mix on the palate with soft caramel and a fine bitterness to create a tasty composition.
