Thanks is an American expression that is difficult to translate into German. Thanks denotes on the one hand a particularly potent, rich and almost sticky quality of cannabis, on the other hand the word is also used in connection with beer. When it comes to beer, dank stands for distinctly hoppy creations that cloud your senses with a high alcohol content, intense aroma and wonderful cloudiness. In the German language, thanks is something completely different: We feel thanks when someone does something for us, when something good happens or when we drink an exceptionally fine beer.

The legendary Sierra Nevada brewery has taken these two meanings of words and quickly combined them into an excellent beer. Your Dankful is an IPA that is extremely thankful in the beer sense: There are seven different types of hops in beer and give it its fruity, resinous and bitter taste and the naturally cloudy body. But the German thanks are not neglected either. The income generated with this beer goes to charity. Sierra Nevada works with nonprofit organizations that advocate social equality, economic prosperity and environmental protection. All of the brewery’s partners work to grow communities.
