Many brewers are the type of person who strives for perfection day after day and cannot switch off until at least 120% has been achieved. The Samuel Adams team definitely falls into this category, which is why they gave one of their most popular classics a new coat of paint. The Boston Lager has been brewed for 40 years and has achieved real cult status. When it was first served in 1984, it was part of the early craft beer movement and is still considered a pioneer for the unparalleled variety of beer we have today. The streak of success for this extraordinary beer has never stopped and yet the brewers at Samuel Adams have been itching to make their masterpiece a little better.
In order not to offend fans, the recipe remained untouched, but the team took a close look at the selection of raw materials and the brewing technique and eliminated every inconsistency, no matter how small. The latest version of their Boston Lager is now even smoother and clearer than the original. The magical formula contains an in-house malt variety, caramel malt, the Hallertau Mittel Früh and Tettnanger hops as well as the Samuel Adame lager yeast and results in a fine beer that tastes of delicately melting toffee, pine resin, citrus fruit and noble hops.
