We all know that beer and music are a great combination. Collaborations between well-known musicians and brewers prove that bands and breweries are a dream team. Legendary bands like Motorhead, Iron Maiden or Rammstein have looked for breweries that can compose the perfect beer to their beats. The Deftones, who have created a whole range of musical beers together with the Belching Beaver brewery, have also joined their ranks.
The Californian band has brought San Diego brewers on board to fulfill their beery dreams. Together they created a series of beers named after the band's songs that go great with them. The first brew of the collaboration is Phantom Bride. The funky India Pale Ale was brewed with hop varieties selected by Chino Moreno. Deftones' frontman favorites were Amarillo, Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra. The green gold is crafted into a masterful IPA inspired by the brews of America's West Coast. Phantom Bride is 7.1% strong and hoppy: juicy citrus fruit meets fresh umbels, pine resin, grass and floral hints. A crisp bitterness completes the play of aromas.
This beer is the right choice for devotees of Deftones and fans of delicious West Coast IPAs.
